Andhra Pradesh orders free electricity for Ganesh pandals

The Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation (APCPDCL) has issued an order to provide free electricity to Ganesh pandals across the state. Following a decision by the NDA government led by the Telugu Desam Party, the initiative aims to support communities celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi.

Under the LT temporary supply category, free electricity will be provided for nine days, from September 14 to September 22. The scheme covers pandals with loads up to 3 kW in rural areas and up to 5 kW in urban areas. Any requests for loads exceeding these limits will follow the standard regular temporary supply process.

Minister for Human Resources Development and Information Technology, Nara Lokesh, announced the initiative, stating it is a major step to support celebrating communities and enhance the festivities. Field officials have been instructed to ensure all safety measures are in place before commencing supply to prevent accidents.
