Andhra Pradesh SEC reviews local body election preparations

Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha has called for the upcoming local body elections to be conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. During a high-level video conference held on Monday, Punetha met with district collectors, police commissioners, and election observers to review administrative preparedness and electoral arrangements.

The Commissioner emphasized the need for transparency, accountability, and strict implementation of the Election Commission’s directives. He instructed officials to maintain continuous ground-level monitoring to prevent untoward incidents and to respond swiftly to any operational hurdles or grievances.

Security arrangements were also reviewed, with IG B. Rajakumari noting that Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta is conducting twice-daily teleconferences with Superintendents of Police and Commissioners to ensure law and order. State Election Commission Secretary Dr. A. Mallikarjuna addressed administrative queries from district officials during the session to ensure seamless coordination across departments.
