Andhra Pradesh YSRCP criticizes Minister over student deaths and hostel conditions

YSRCP leader and former MP Talari Rangaiah has criticized Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh over the deteriorating conditions in government schools and welfare hostels for SC, ST, and BC students.

Rangaiah reported that nearly 100 students have died across the state in recent months, many of whom were children aged between 8 and 13. He cited specific incidents, including the death of a student due to a wall collapse caused by inadequate toilet facilities and other deaths involving falls into farm ponds.

The YSRCP leader highlighted issues such as lack of water at the Kanekallu hostel, poor-quality food, and insufficient infrastructure. He demanded a comprehensive review of the HRD Department, compensation of Rs 1 crore for affected families, and the resignation of Minister Nara Lokesh.
