Andimat calls for increased market surveillance of insulation materials in Spain

The National Association of Insulation Material Manufacturers (Andimat) is calling on Spanish authorities to strengthen market surveillance activities. The association seeks more resources and systematic controls to ensure that construction products meet their declared performance standards and possess all legally required documentation.

This request follows the publication of results from an EU-funded market surveillance campaign involving 14 countries. While the campaign identified non-compliant products with inaccurate performance claims or deficiencies in CE marking and Declarations of Performance (DoP), Spain was not among the participating nations.

Andimat argues that non-compliant products harm the entire value chain, including manufacturers who follow regulations, architects, and designers. The association advocates for continuous and systematic oversight to identify and remove substandard products from the market, promoting a more transparent and reliable construction sector.
