Andiva Srl seized in Agrigento road contract fraud investigation

Authorities in Agrigento have ordered the preventive seizure of Andiva Srl, the company awarded a €3.2 million contract for the extraordinary maintenance of the Mosella road. The seizure, ordered by the Agrigento Prosecutor's Office and signed by Judge Giuseppe Miceli, includes movable and immovable assets, bank accounts, contracts, and corporate shares. A judicial administrator has been appointed to manage the seized assets.

The investigation alleges that Andiva Srl was established specifically to bypass anti-mafia certifications and regulatory controls by using employees Giovanna Palillo and Calogero Valenti as frontmen. Prosecutors claim the company was created by entrepreneurs Antonino Milioti and Diego “Dino” Caramazza to manipulate the bidding process.

Additional charges involve the alleged alteration of metric computations related to road bitumen work, totaling over €400,000. The legal proceedings involve allegations of fraudulent transfer of assets, bid-rigging, undue inducement, and aggravated fraud against public funds. Several municipal officials are also under investigation for their roles in the alleged scheme.
