Andújar City Council launches breastfeeding point for local Fair

The Andújar City Council has re-established a ‘Punto de Lactancia’ (Breastfeeding Point) to support families during the local Fair. Managed by the Department of Women and Equality, the resource aims to ensure that families with infants can participate in the festivities comfortably.

The space will be available for six consecutive days from 14:00 to 04:00 at the Civil Protection building. It is equipped to allow parents to breastfeed or use bottles, change diapers, soothe infants, or find a quiet place to rest.

Rosa Sola, the Councilor for Women and Equality, noted that the initiative promotes inclusivity and family co-responsibility, encouraging both mothers and fathers to participate in childcare tasks. The project is supported by Civil Protection volunteers and AMARCOM, which assists in adapting the resource to family needs.
