Andong City launches investment advisory group for strategic growth

Andong City has launched an investment advisory group to secure growth engines for its current administration. The group is a public-private cooperative body consisting of 23 experts, including business leaders and institutional representatives. Co-chaired by Andong Mayor Kwon Ki-chang and Lee Hee-beom, CEO of the Korea Spiritual Culture Foundation, the group aims to identify promising companies and advise on investment strategies.

The initiative seeks to expand investment focus from traditional manufacturing to service industries such as tourism and culture. Key strategic areas include the development of the Andong Bio-Life National Industrial Complex, which has a total project cost of 346.5 billion won, and the promotion of the bio, vaccine, and hemp industries.

Additionally, the city plans to leverage its natural resources to attract AI data centers and expand its tourism infrastructure through forest and leisure investment projects. The advisory group will act as a bridge to identify corporate investment needs and facilitate the early activation of national industrial complexes.
