Andorra reduces diesel prices by 10 cents per liter

The Government of Andorra has announced a reduction in diesel prices by 10 cents per liter, effective from September 1 through the end of the month. This measure, reached through an agreement with fuel importers and distributors, adds to a 5-cent discount already in place during August, bringing the total consumer discount to 15 cents.

To facilitate this, the government will implement a modification to the law regarding temporary measures for hydrocarbon price increases, allowing for a partial refund of the special tax on hydrocarbons sold during this period. The initiative aims to mitigate the impact of rising energy costs on citizens and the local economy while maintaining Andorra's competitiveness relative to neighboring regions.

While the diesel discount is being expanded, the reduction for unleaded gasoline will remain at 5 cents for the month of September. The government stated it will continue to monitor fuel price trends to determine if further measures are necessary to protect the economy.
