Andorra begins 2026-2027 school year with 10,940 students

The 2026-2027 school year has commenced in Andorra with a total of 10,940 students enrolled. The student population is distributed across several educational systems: 4,334 students are in the Andorran system, 3,149 are in the French system, 3,161 are in the Spanish system, and 296 are enrolled in the British school.

Ladislau Baró, the Minister of Institutional Relations, Education, and Universities, stated that this academic year continues strategic actions to improve educational quality and adapt the system to modern pedagogical, technological, social, and environmental challenges.

A key focus remains the Integral Plan for the Proper Use of Technology in Education (PIBUTE), which promotes the responsible and pedagogical use of digital resources. Current initiatives include the progressive implementation of Chromebooks in second-level education, the deployment of specific digital plans for each center, and the gradual incorporation of artificial intelligence through specialized training for teaching staff.
