Andorra explores active neutrality as Occitan culture summer school convenes

At the 39th edition of the Andorran Day held at the Catalan Summer University, discussions focused on the evolution of Andorra's neutrality. Historically a survival mechanism based on non-interference to preserve sovereignty, Andorran neutrality has transitioned into 'active neutrality' following the 1993 Constitution. This modern approach emphasizes participation in international organizations like the UN and the Council of Europe to defend international law, human rights, and democracy.

In a separate cultural development, the Myreio summer school, titled ‘Myths and Realities of Occitan’, was held in the Val Maira region. Organized by the University of Turin in collaboration with the Occitan Archive, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and the University of Pau and the Pays de l'Adour, the program brought together students and researchers to study the Occitan language and culture. The initiative aimed to foster international academic cooperation and address the challenges of transmitting and teaching the language within its historical territories in Italy.
