Andorra hosts Gaudí-themed concert for Catalan National Day

The Lauredi Cultural Centre in Andorra hosted the concert ‘Gaudí en notes i línies’ to commemorate the National Day of Catalonia. Organized by the Delegation of the Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya in Andorra, the recital explored the life and work of architect Antoni Gaudí through Catalan music and contemporary texts.

Performed by tenor Jordi Cortadell and pianist Josep Buforn, the program was divided into four stages: Gaudí’s childhood and training, the rise of Modernism, his creative peak, and his spiritual transcendence. The repertoire included works such as ‘L’Emigrant’ by Amadeu Vives and pieces by Enric Morera and Richard Wagner.

The event also served as part of the centenary commemorations of Gaudí’s death. During the ceremony, Anna Vives, the delegate of the Generalitat in Andorra, emphasized the universal nature of Gaudí’s work and the shared cultural, linguistic, and historical ties between Catalonia and Andorra.
