Andorra hosts OSCE seminar on climate change and security
Andorra is hosting an international training seminar organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the University of Andorra. The program, titled ‘Connecting the Dots: Climate Change, Gender Equality, and Youth Inclusion’, focuses on the links between climate change, security, and social inclusion.
Participants, including 18 individuals from Andorra and other OSCE member states, are examining how climate change impacts human security and how these effects disproportionately affect women, youth, and vulnerable groups, particularly in rural and mountain environments. The three-day event includes conferences, interactive debates, and multilateral climate negotiation simulations to develop leadership and negotiation skills among young professionals.
During the opening ceremony, Foreign Minister Imma Tor marked the 30th anniversary of Andorra’s accession to the OSCE. She reaffirmed the country’s commitment to multilateralism, peace, and security in Europe, specifically noting support for a “just, global, and lasting peace in Ukraine.” Tor also emphasized the importance of increasing women’s participation in security and decision-making processes.
