Andorra Immigration Service to increase staff for winter season

The Government of Andorra is reinforcing its Immigration Service with three additional staff members for the upcoming winter season to reduce waiting times during peak periods. Minister of Justice and Interior Ester Molné confirmed this in a written response to parliamentary questions, noting that workload fluctuates based on specific quotas.

During the autumn, special winter quotas can lead to more than 5,000 immigration authorization requests in a short timeframe. To manage these peaks, the government has also enabled two new physical service points and is working on the digitalization of administrative procedures. This digital project, awarded to Hiberus and Eqtic, aims to simplify and clarify current administrative processes.

Regarding staffing, the department has created several positions through the 2025 and 2026 budgets, some of which are already operational or in the process of being filled. Additionally, the 2027 budget proposal includes provisions for two more positions, subject to approval by the General Council.
