Andorra la Vella officials dispute management of Casa Pairal
Olalla Losada, the junior consul of Andorra la Vella, has defended the management of Casa Pairal following criticisms from Andreu Pedra, president of the local Elderly Association. Losada rejected claims that the municipal government ignores the needs of senior citizens, asserting that most users are satisfied with the service. She noted that recent improvements have been made, such as adjusting furniture and schedules to resolve previous issues.
However, Andreu Pedra disputes these claims, stating that problems at the facility persist. He cited unadapted furniture, the closure of men's restrooms without explanation, and scheduling conflicts between the center and the shared restaurant space. Pedra also raised safety concerns regarding the lack of monitors during weekends.
Additionally, a political dispute has emerged after Losada suggested that Pedra was engaging in 'pre-campaigning' regarding elderly issues. Pedra denied any partisan intent, arguing that his actions are strictly focused on defending the interests of the elderly in his capacity as a representative of the association and the principality's elderly federation.
