Andorra Prime Minister Xavier Espot Launches EU Association Agreement Campaign Ahead of Referendum

Prime Minister Xavier Espot attended the traditional AINA lunch, marking his final appearance at the centre before the upcoming elections. In his speech he announced that the government will intensify communication and pedagogical efforts around Andorra’s association agreement with the European Union, aiming to ensure citizens can vote "absolutely informed" in a future referendum.

Espot said the executive is finalising the text of the agreement, which is expected to be signed with San Marino and the European Commission in Brussels this autumn. The referendum will only be held after the European Parliament ratifies the deal, and no specific date has been set, as the timing will depend on the EU ratification schedule.
