Andorran paddler Mònica Doria wins historic silver at canoe slalom World Championships

Mònica Doria of Andorra captured a silver medal in the canoe slalom World Championships held in Oklahoma, marking the first World Championship medal for her country in the sport. The achievement follows her sixth‑place finish at the Paris Olympics and a European title in 2025.

Doria said the win was a long‑awaited reward after a difficult start to the competition that included a disqualification in the cross‑canoe event. She now focuses on the upcoming World Cup stages in Paris and Seu d’Urgell, which are crucial for Olympic qualification, stating that the two venues feel like “home 2.0.”
