Andover Audio and Sonos release updates for portable speakers

Andover Audio has released the FreePlay, a portable Bluetooth speaker designed with true stereo architecture to provide high-fidelity sound outside of home listening environments. The device features dual 25mm dome tweeters, two 5.25-inch woofers, and a 160mm rear-mounted passive radiator. It offers up to 24 hours of battery life, is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance, and includes a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad.

In the portable audio market, Sonos has seen a price reduction for its Sonos Play model. Previously priced around 349 euros, the white variant is now available on Amazon for approximately 307 euros. The Sonos Play functions as a portable Bluetooth speaker that integrates into Wi-Fi multiroom systems, allowing it to serve as a rear speaker in home theater setups when placed near compatible Sonos soundbars.
