André Araújo joins Lab Novas Histórias after ‘Feito Pipa’ Oscar selection

Screenwriter André Araújo, whose film ‘Feito Pipa’ has been selected to represent Brazil in the race for the 2027 Oscar for Best International Feature Film, is returning to the Lab Novas Histórias. Having participated in the laboratory in 2020, Araújo will now serve as a selector and consultant for the initiative's 30th-anniversary edition.

Established in 1996, Lab Novas Histórias is a script development space that has supported numerous productions recognized both in Brazil and abroad. For the upcoming anniversary edition, Araújo is part of a team reviewing 244 projects from seven different countries. From these entries, ten feature-length scripts will be chosen to participate in a development immersion scheduled for December 15 to 18 at the Grande Hotel Campos do Jordão.
