André Gadelha reacts to political break with Ludgério couple

Senate candidate André Gadelha (MDB) expressed surprise following the political break of Ivonete and Manoel Ludgério, who resigned from his campaign to support Nabor Wanderley (Republicanos).

Gadelha stated that he was in communication with Manoel Ludgério as late as 10:30 a.m. on the day of the announcement, only to learn of the shift through press reports and a video released by the couple. Gadelha noted that the nomination of Ivonete as his first substitute had originally been suggested by Manoel Ludgério.

While expressing respect for the couple, Gadelha questioned the influence of financial resources on shifting political allegiances. Despite the loss of his first substitute, Gadelha confirmed he will continue his Senate bid and remains enthusiastic about the race. The Ludgérios' new alliance with Wanderley was announced in an event attended by Federal Deputy Hugo Motta.
