André Mendonça inaugurated into Academia Mackenzista de Letras

Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister André Mendonça was inaugurated into the Academia Mackenzista de Letras on Friday, August 14. The ceremony took place at the Higienópolis Campus of the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie in São Paulo.

Jurist and academic Ives Gandra da Silva Martins, who proposed Mendonça’s unanimous nomination, delivered a welcoming speech. Gandra highlighted the Minister's judicial trajectory, noting his efforts toward the “moralization of Justice” and the pursuit of the “ideal of justice.”

Mendonça will occupy Chair No. 10, which honors patron Prof. Antonio Bandeira Trajano. During his inauguration speech, the Minister expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized his institutional and emotional ties to Mackenzie.
