Fábio Luís Lula da Silva under investigation for suspected influence peddling

Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, the eldest son of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, is at the center of multiple Federal Police investigations regarding suspected influence peddling.

Recent developments include messages from lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger, which suggest she was offered a government position by the President. The investigations also examine Luchsinger's business ties with Lulinha and former chief of staff Marco Aurélio Santana Ribeiro, specifically concerning the potential sale of cannabidiol-based medicines to the Ministry of Health.

In response to the publication of these details in the media, Supreme Court Justice André Mendonça has ordered the Federal Police to investigate the source of the leaks. Mendonça specified that the inquiry should target those with a functional duty to maintain confidentiality rather than the journalists who reported the information.

Additionally, Senator Carlos Viana has formally requested that the Federal Police clarify Lulinha's current whereabouts, noting that the businessman recently transferred the commercial address of his company, Synapta SL, to Madrid, Spain.
