André Pronovost, four-time Stanley Cup champion, dies at 90

Former NHL winger André Pronovost has passed away at the age of 90. The Montreal Canadiens announced his death on Wednesday, noting that he was a four-time Stanley Cup champion.

A native of Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, Pronovost began his professional career during the 1956-57 season. He was a key part of the Montreal Canadiens dynasty, winning four consecutive Stanley Cups between 1957 and 1960. Over his decade-long career, he played for several teams, including the Boston Bruins, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Minnesota North Stars.

In 556 regular-season NHL games, Pronovost recorded 94 goals and 104 assists for a total of 198 points. He also contributed 22 points in 70 postseason contests. He was part of a legendary hockey family; his brother Marcel Pronovost is a Hockey Hall of Famer, and André is the grandfather of current NHL player Anthony Mantha.
