André Ventura formalizes candidacy for Chega party leadership

André Ventura has formalized his candidacy for the presidency of the Chega party. Supporters within the party, including members of the Assembly of the Republic and local coordinators, have expressed firm backing for his leadership, citing his determination and the party's growth over the last seven years.

Chega has become the second-largest parliamentary force in Portugal. Proponents of Ventura's re-election argue that the party must now focus on addressing national challenges, including the rising cost of living, high tax burdens, housing difficulties, public service issues, and limited opportunities for youth.
