Andra Soni and four governors initiate Aslinmas to strengthen Satlinmas

Five Indonesian governors, including Banten Governor Andra Soni, have initiated the formation of the Asosiasi Perlindungan Masyarakat (Aslinmas) to strengthen the role of the Satuan Perlindungan Masyarakat (Satlinmas).

Speaking at a large-scale Satlinmas assembly in Palembang, Andra Soni stated that the association aims to optimize the functions, duties, and roles of Satlinmas members by increasing their capacity. With over one million personnel across Indonesia, Satlinmas is viewed as a significant social and regional force.

While historically linked to national defense concepts during Indonesia's early independence, the role of Satlinmas has evolved to focus on community protection, maintaining order, and tranquility within local environments. Future objectives include community education on environmental issues, such as waste sorting.
