Andradas: Three-year-old girl killed by forklift at biscuit factory
A three-year-old girl, identified as Elliza Ramos Salvador, died after being struck by a forklift at the Raízes de Minas biscuit factory in Andradas, Minas Gerais. The accident occurred on Tuesday evening, approximately between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
According to Military Police reports, the forklift was being operated by the child's uncle, a partner-owner of the establishment, who was performing maneuvers to end the workday. The child reportedly emerged from behind a pallet rack, which obstructed the operator's view of the area. The operator stated he was unaware of her presence until alerted by the child's father.
Family members provided immediate assistance and transported the girl to the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Andradas. She arrived at the hospital in cardiorespiratory arrest, and medical staff were unable to revive her. The Civil Police will investigate the circumstances of the accident to determine how the child entered the operating area and to establish any potential criminal responsibility.
