AEW Collision: Andrade El Idolo and Persephone retain titles in Texas

The September 5 episode of AEW Collision, taped at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, featured several championship defenses and high-profile debuts.

Andrade El Idolo successfully defended his AEW National Championship against Gabe Kidd. Following the match, Andrade expressed his intention to focus on the National Title while holding his contract for a future world title opportunity. In the women’s division, Persephone retained the AEW TBS Championship by defeating VertVixen. The match concluded with a post-match attack by Persephone and Britt Baker, which was interrupted by the arrival of Maya World and Thunder Rosa.

The Motor City Machine Guns, consisting of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, made their AEW in-ring debut with a victory over The Swirl. Other notable results included the Young Bucks defeating the Don Callis Family members Brian Cage and Jake Doyle, and Nick Wayne securing a win over Komander. The latter match was followed by an attack on Wayne by Chris Jericho.

The event also included a victory for Athena in an ROH Women’s World Championship Proving Ground match against Isla Dawn, and a six-man tag team win for Hangman Page, Bandido, and Brody King against Braddah Kaimi, LBJ, and Vin Parker. Additionally, Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight defeated the Bang Bang Gang.
