Andrea Abodi calls America’s Cup an accelerator for urban regeneration

Italian Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi stated during the opening of the America’s Cup week on the island of Nisida that sport serves as an accelerator for both urban and human regeneration.

Abodi highlighted the potential for the event to revitalize areas like Bagnoli, which he described as having been dormant for thirty years. He emphasized that the government aims to use such opportunities to foster legality, sociality, and well-being in various communities. Furthermore, he noted ongoing efforts to use sport as a tool for social reintegration, specifically through agreements with the Ministry of Justice to support individuals serving sentences as they prepare to return to daily life.
