Andrea Andreu presents new musical work on transposed guitar

Singer-songwriter Andrea Andreu is set to present a new musical work titled ‘La guitarra y sus temples en Chile y España’ this Friday, August 21, in Santiago. The project is the result of extensive research into ‘guitarra traspuesta’, an ancient method of guitar tuning used in rural areas of Chile and throughout Hispanoamérica.

Andreu notes that while academic standards eventually standardized guitar tuning, the instrument has historically utilized various tunings since its origins centuries ago. This new compilation includes collaborations with Spanish musicologist Julio Guillén, exploring the historical connection between Spanish and Chilean guitar traditions.
