Andrea Ballschuh files for private insolvency
ZDF presenter Andrea Ballschuh has filed for private insolvency, reporting debts totaling approximately 230,000 euros. The 54-year-old moderator, known for her work on ‘Volle Kanne’, officially filed for insolvency on February 5, 2026.
The financial crisis stemmed from a series of professional setbacks beginning in 2022, including the loss of four television programs and a fallout with a business partner. Ballschuh had expanded her career by becoming a video coach in 2019, but a planned video studio in Mainz faced significant complications following the dissolution of her partnership just before its opening. Additionally, the tax office required retroactive prepayments for two years following an audit.
As a result of the insolvency proceedings, Ballschuh currently retains approximately 1,500 euros per month, with all remaining funds directed to the insolvency administrator. She has also had to vacate her previous apartment.
