Italy wins multiple medals at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships

Italy achieved significant success at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships in Paris across multiple disciplines. In high diving, Elisa Cosetti secured the silver medal in the women's 20m platform event, finishing behind Ukraine's Nelli Chukanivska. Andrea Barnabá also earned a silver medal in the men's high diving competition, trailing Romania's Catalin-Petru Preda.

In open water swimming, the Italian team won the overall team classification title. Ginevra Taddeucci stood out with a remarkable performance, winning gold in both the 5km and 10km distances, as well as a bronze in the 3km knockout sprint. The women's 4x1500m relay team, featuring Taddeucci, Barbara Pozzobon, Marcello Guidi, and Gregorio Paltrinieri, took the silver medal in a close race against Germany.

Additionally, in youth competitions, Serena Di Fabio won a historic gold medal in the 5000m race walk at the U20 World Championships in Eugene, and the Italian U19 women's coxless pair, Carolina Cassani and Letizia Martorana, claimed the world title in Bulgaria, setting a new championship record.
