Andrea Bocelli to perform at Borobudur and Jakarta in 2026
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is scheduled to perform in Indonesia as part of his ‘Romanza 30th Anniversary World Tour’ in late 2026. The tour includes two major performances: one at the Borobudur Temple in Magelang on October 31, 2026, and another at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran on November 3, 2026.
These concerts represent Bocelli’s only public appearances in the Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia regions for 2026. The Borobudur performance is designed as a cultural experience, following the tradition of his performances at other global heritage sites like the Pyramids of Giza and the Acropolis.
The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism expects the event to generate an economic impact of approximately $44 million (Rp792 billion). Officials anticipate attracting roughly 16,000 spectators in total, with 7,000 expected in Borobudur and 9,000 in Jakarta. The economic activity is expected to stem from ticket sales, accommodation, transportation, culinary services, and local production involving various vendors and SMEs.
