Andrea Camplone hospitalized after cardiac arrest during padel match

Andrea Camplone, the 60-year-old former captain of Pescara and former coach for Perugia, was hospitalized in critical condition following a cardiac arrest. The incident occurred on Friday, September 11, while he was playing padel at a sports center in Montesilvano.

Emergency responders and a physician present at the facility provided immediate life-saving measures before transporting him to the Spirito Santo Hospital in Pescara via emergency code red. Camplone underwent an urgent hemodynamics procedure and was subsequently admitted to the intensive care unit.

While his prognosis remains reserved, recent reports indicate signs of improvement, noting that he has regained consciousness and alertness following the intervention. Camplone is a well-known figure in Italian football, having played for clubs including Pescara, Perugia, and Bari, and coached several teams such as Cesena, Catania, and Arezzo.
