Andrea Cirino resigns as vice‑president of Fondazione Teatro Pirandello in Agrigento
Andrea Cirino, vice‑president of the Fondazione Teatro Luigi Pirandello in Agrigento, submitted a letter of resignation effective 23 July 2026. He stated that, although the statutory end of his term was scheduled for November, he chose to step down early to respect the prerogatives of the newly elected municipal administration led by Mayor Michele Sodano.
The foundation’s board of directors, originally appointed by the previous municipal government, had already completed the preparatory work for the 2026‑2027 theatrical season, ensuring continuity of the institution’s activities. Following meetings between Mayor Sodano and foundation president Alessandro Patti, the city plans to revoke the current board members and consider new appointments, with names such as former deputy mayor Massimo Muglia circulating.
Cirino thanked colleagues and affirmed his hope that the foundation would continue to serve as a cultural reference point for Agrigento.
