Andrea Gacki to Lead Citigroup’s Global Sanctions Team

Andrea Gacki, who has directed the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) since 2023, will leave the agency after 25 years of government service to become Citigroup’s global head of sanctions on October 1, 2026. She will join Citi’s independent compliance risk‑management leadership team, reporting to chief compliance officer Tom Anderson. The Treasury has named Jenna Casanova as acting FinCEN director to oversee the transition. Gacki previously spent five years as director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control and has testified before the House Financial Services Committee in July 2026.

Citi highlighted Gacki’s deep geopolitical and national‑security experience as a key asset for navigating the increasingly complex sanctions landscape for its global clients.
