Andrea Guerrieri and Lucrezia Stefanini qualify for US Open main draw

Italian tennis players Andrea Guerrieri and Lucrezia Stefanini have successfully qualified for the US Open main draw. Despite heavy rain in New York causing scheduling delays, both athletes secured their spots during the qualifying rounds.

Andrea Guerrieri, 27, achieved his first career qualification for a Grand Slam main draw. His ascent has been rapid; he began the year ranked outside the top 500 and has climbed into the top 200. Guerrieri secured his place by defeating Tunisia’s Aziz Dougaz with a score of 6-2, 6-4, maintaining a strong service performance throughout the match.

Lucrezia Stefanini also reached the main draw at Flushing Meadows by defeating American Julieta Pareja 6-3, 6-4. This victory marks her first time qualifying for the US Open, completing her participation in all four Grand Slam tournaments.
