Andrea Kiewel to continue hosting ZDF’s Fernsehgarten

ZDF has addressed speculation regarding Andrea Kiewel’s future with the program ‘Fernsehgarten’ following the cancellation of this year’s New Year's Eve special. The broadcaster confirmed that Kiewel will remain with the show for the upcoming season, stating they look forward to a colorful season with her in the new year.

During the recent season finale on September 27, Kiewel appeared more distant from guests than usual, avoiding her typical hugs. This change in behavior was attributed to her being unwell; she had informed viewers at the start of the broadcast that she was experiencing cold symptoms and had suffered from lack of sleep. The illness also resulted in the cancellation of a planned pool segment intended to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the show.

In addition to her work at ZDF, Kiewel is set to appear in a new ProSieben program titled ‘Catch Us. Die Jagd durch Europa,’ a scavenger hunt format involving celebrities across European cities, starting November 10.
