Andrea Marazzi’s ultra‑narrow Fiat Panda targets Guinness record

Italian mechanic Andrea Marazzi spent about a year re‑engineering a 1993 Fiat Panda to become the world’s narrowest car. He sliced the original vehicle in half, removed the central chassis and welded the two halves together, reducing the width to just 50 cm – roughly one‑third of the stock model. The project retained the original side panels, doors and a single headlamp, while the gasoline engine was replaced by a modest electric motor powered by two 12‑volt batteries, giving the car a top speed of about 15 km/h.

The stripped‑down Panda was displayed at the Pandino automotive showcase last year and Marazzi is now applying to Guinness World Records for official recognition. The car is not road‑legal and is intended solely as a proof‑of‑concept and novelty vehicle.
