Andrea Mazzon sets high goals for Turkish Women's Basketball Team

Andrea Mazzon, head coach of the Turkish Women's National Basketball Team, stated that the team should “dream big” for the FIBA 2026 Women's Basketball World Cup. Mazzon expressed confidence that the squad is capable of competing with any team except the United States.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany, from September 4 to 13, 2026. Mazzon noted that returning to the World Cup after eight years is a significant milestone for the team.

Regarding preparations, the coach reported that the team has faced no injury problems and that players are maintaining a serious training regimen. Mazzon also praised the Turkish Basketball Federation for providing excellent facilities and resources, describing the support as a “privilege” that allows the team to focus entirely on their goal of winning as many matches as possible.
