Andrea Parodi Award to host nine world music finalists in Cagliari

The 19th edition of the Andrea Parodi Award for world music will take place from October 15 to 17 at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari, Sardinia. Nine finalists from various regions, including Europe, Asia, and the Americas, will compete for the prize.

The finalists include Koyel Basu, Chiaré, Federica Fruscella, Hita Del Rio, Indelicato, Momi, Nubras Ensemble, Elana Sasson, and Angelica Perri. The winner will receive a €2,500 scholarship and opportunities to perform at partner festivals.

This year’s event holds special significance as it coincides with the 20th anniversary of the passing of Sardinian musician Andrea Parodi, who was a prominent figure in world music both with the group Tazenda and as a solo artist. The program will include tributes to Parodi through performances of his songs by finalists and guests. Organized by the Andrea Parodi Foundation under the artistic direction of Elena Ledda, the award has become an international showcase for musical research and cultural fusion.
