Andrea Parodi Award to mark 20th anniversary of musician's passing

The 19th edition of the Andrea Parodi Award is scheduled to take place from October 15 to 17 at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari. This year's event holds symbolic importance as it marks exactly twenty years since the passing of the renowned Sardinian musician on October 17, 2006.

Centered on world music, the event features an international contest with seven finalists from Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. Notable performers include trumpeter Paolo Fresu, who will receive the Albo d’oro 2026 award, alongside artists such as Bungaro, Luisa Briguglio, and Gigi Marras.

The musical program will honor Parodi’s legacy through his repertoire, performed by both guests and contest finalists. The event is under the artistic direction of Elena Ledda.
