Andrea Sempio faces indictment request in Garlasco murder case
The Pavia Prosecutor's Office has requested an indictment for Andrea Sempio in connection with the murder of Chiara Poggi in Garlasco. Sempio expressed that while he does not feel fear, he is experiencing tension and hopes for a swift trial to clear his name.
Sempio's legal team, including lawyers Angela Taccia and Liborio Cataliotti, has strongly denied recent media reports regarding a purported 85,000 euro postal bond linked to him and his parents. The defense characterized these claims as “gravissima fake news” that lacks any factual basis and has caused prejudicial effects.
During a televised debate on the program Quarto Grado, tensions rose between journalist Carmelo Abbate and defense attorney Angela Taccia. Taccia accused the journalist of lacking modesty by attempting to justify the prosecution's theory of guilt, while Abbate criticized the defense as being more “human than technical.”
