Andrea Tempestini, deputy director of Libero, found dead in Milan
Andrea Tempestini, the 40-year-old deputy director and digital editor of the Italian newspaper Libero, was found dead in his Milan apartment on Monday, September 28. His body was discovered in the basement of his residence in the Maciachini area by firefighters and carabinieri after his sister raised the alarm when she could not reach him for two days.
Preliminary investigations by the Porta Garibaldi carabinieri and scientific investigation specialists have not found evidence of violence or third-party involvement. Investigators are currently considering the hypothesis of suicide, noting that notes attributed to the journalist were found at the scene.
Tempestini, a professional journalist since 2010, had previously worked for Il Sole 24 Ore and Rai Corporation. His death has drawn widespread condolences from the Italian political and journalistic communities, including statements from Libero director Alessandro Sallusti and Senate President Ignazio La Russa.
