Andrea Valleri's EMPORION Exhibition Opens at Patras Archaeological Museum

The travelling exhibition EMPORION, created by Venetian‑born Italian artist Andrea Valleri, will be on view at the Archaeological Museum of Patras in Greece from 30 July to 30 August 2026. Curated by architect‑scholar Marianna Savrami, the show is presented under the patronage of the Western Greece Region, the Greek Consulate in Venice and the Greek Institute of Byzantine and Post‑Byzantine Studies in Venice.

EMPORION examines the Mediterranean as a historic crossroads of trade, ideas and cultures, linking Greece, Italy, France and Spain. Valleri’s paintings and sculptures blend Pop‑Art language with classical motifs, using stone, wood and sculptural references to reinterpret ancient artifacts for a contemporary audience. The opening ceremony will be hosted by Dr Georgios Kakaravas, General Director of Contemporary Culture of the Greek Ministry of Culture.

The exhibition aims to highlight the ancient port of Emporion—now Empúries in Catalonia—as a symbol of ongoing cultural exchange across the Mediterranean.
