Andreas Bouma nears transfer to Aris Thessaloniki
Portuguese winger Andreas Bouma is nearing a move to Aris Thessaloniki following an agreement with Benfica to terminate his contract early. Although his current deal was set to run until June 2028, both parties have reached advanced discussions to facilitate his departure.
Instead of a loan deal, Bouma is expected to join Aris as a free agent. The proposed contract is reportedly for one year, with an option for an additional season. The 31-year-old winger, who previously played for Olympiacos in Greece, has had a challenging period due to a severe Achilles tendon rupture that sidelined him for much of the 2025/26 season.
Bouma's career includes stints at Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Real Sociedad, RB Leipzig, PSV Eindhoven, Braga, and Benfica. He is expected to travel to Thessaloniki to finalize the remaining details of the transfer before the Greek transfer window closes.
