Andreas Christensen extends FC Barcelona contract until 2028

Andreas Christensen has extended his contract with FC Barcelona until 2028. To facilitate the deal and assist the club with its financial registration requirements, the Danish defender accepted a salary reduction of more than 50 percent.

The extension, which replaces his previous contract set to expire in June 2026, provides the club with much-needed economic relief as they work to register new players under the 1:1 rule. Christensen, who has been with the club since 2022, is expected to remain a valuable asset for manager Hansi Flick, though injury concerns have impacted his playing time in recent seasons.
