Andreas Kollross elected Vice President of Austrian Municipalities Association

Andreas Kollross, the mayor of Trumau, has been elected as the new Vice President of the Austrian Association of Municipalities (Österreichischer Gemeindebund). The election took place on September 30, 2026, with the federal board granting him 92 percent approval.

Kollross succeeds Erich Trummer, who is stepping down from his role as President of the GVV Burgenland in November and will relinquish his mayoral office in early 2027. Kollross has served as the mayor of Trumau for 13 years and previously served as a member of the National Council from 2017 to 2024.

In his new role, Kollross emphasized the importance of cross-party cooperation to address the financial pressures currently facing Austrian municipalities. He joins the existing presidium, which includes President Johannes Pressl and Vice Presidents Bettina Lancaster, Daniela Kampfl, and Erwin Dirnberger.
