Andreas Schjelderup starts for Norway in World Cup quarter‑final against England

Norway have named Andreas Schjelderup in the starting XI for their historic first men’s World Cup quarter‑final, with Antonio Nusa on the bench. Schjelderup, who provided three assists in the tournament—including both of Erling Haaland’s goals against Brazil—has previously come on as a substitute against Iraq, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Brazil.

The match will be played at the NFL stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, under temperatures in the low 30s Celsius and high humidity, with a local heat warning in force. England, coached by Thomas Tuchel, make several changes: John Stones returns to centre‑back, Marc Guéhi partners him, Ezri Konsa shifts to right‑back to replace the suspended Jarell Quansah, and Noni Madueke takes the right‑wing spot from Bukayo Saka. England are chasing a third World Cup semi‑final appearance.

Both squads have announced full line‑ups, with Norway fielding Ørjan Nyland in goal and a back four of Julian Ryerson, Kristoffer Ajer, Torbjørn Heggem and David Møller Wolfe. England start Jordan Pickford, with Harry Kane as captain.
