Andreessen Horowitz-linked wallets move millions of HYPE tokens on Hyperliquid
Wallets suspected of being associated with the venture fund Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) have conducted large‑scale transactions involving the HYPE token on the Hyperliquid platform. One set of on‑chain data shows a wallet sold about 105,400 HYPE for roughly $6.48 million at an average price of $61.49 per token, while an additional 190,000 HYPE were transferred to exchange‑related addresses. The token’s price fell about 9.7% within 24 hours, trading around $59.
A separate analysis reports that the same group withdrew 224,118 HYPE tokens from exchanges, valued at approximately $15.16 million, and that they have accumulated 6.9 million HYPE since the start of the year, a position worth about $322 million. The wallets have also moved tens of millions of dollars to purchase and stake HYPE, using staggered TWAP orders to limit market impact. No official confirmation links the addresses directly to a16z, and it remains unclear how much of the transferred token supply will be sold versus held or staked.
