Andrei Cordea remains at CFR Cluj despite financial sacrifices

Andrei Cordea, a prominent winger for CFR Cluj with a market value of approximately 3 million euros, has revealed that he forfeited a significant sum of money—reportedly around 80,000 euros—to remain with the club despite its financial difficulties. Cordea expressed his loyalty to the team and its supporters, stating he feels “at home” and “loved” at the club.

CFR Cluj coach Marius Șumudică anticipates a potential transfer for the 27-year-old during the winter break, noting that the club may need to sell him to improve its financial situation. Șumudică described Cordea as being “like a Rolex” because he does not lose value and suggested the player could be a target for clubs in the Gulf region or China.

While Șumudică mentioned the possibility of a move to FCSB if the financial terms are met, FCSB administrator Mihai Stoica has explicitly denied any interest in the player, stating that Cordea is performing well at CFR Cluj and that a transfer is not being discussed.
