Andrei Dorobanțu UTA Arad loan transfer Romanian Liga 1 Gigi Becali

21‑year‑old right‑back Andrei Dorobanțu has been loaned from Unirea Slobozia to UTA Arad until the end of the 2026‑2027 season. The defender, who logged 31 league appearances and one assist last campaign, is also a Romania U20 international with six caps. UTA announced the move on its official site, adding Dorobanțu’s quote: “I am very happy to join a club with the tradition and history of UTA. I want to work, progress and help the team achieve its goals.”

Earlier in the summer, FCSB showed interest in Dorobanțu, but the transfer collapsed after Unirea Slobozia demanded €700,000, a sum that owner Gigi Becali refused to meet. The loan gives Dorobanțu the chance to continue playing in Liga 1 after Unirea’s relegation to Liga 2, while UTA also confirmed the departure of several other players.
